About The Position

Virtualization Administrator The Opportunity: Serve as a key member of the Security Tools and Infrastructure Management team, responsible for architecting, administering, and securing large‑scale VMware environments that support mission‑critical workloads across enterprise. Support the design, optimization, and lifecycle management of VMware virtualization platforms, enterprise storage, and SAN networking to ensure high availability, performance, and compliance with security standards. Operate within an agile, highly technical environment, and contribute to system engineering, configuration, patching, and continuous improvement of virtualization services while collaborating closely with cross‑functional infrastructure teams. Support related systems and applications and participates in on‑call operations to maintain reliability and rapid response for critical infrastructure. You Have:

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience supporting Windows Systems in an enterprise environment
  • Experience designing, deploying, and administering VMware vSphere environments such as ESXi or vCenter, supporting enterprise and mission systems
  • Experience supporting virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions such as VMware Horizon
  • Knowledge of configuring and maintaining VMware HA, DRS, vMotion, and Storage vMotion
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex virtualization issues across compute, storage, and network layers
  • Ability to manage the VM lifecycle, including provisioning, patching, capacity planning, performance tuning, and decommissioning
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex virtualization issues across compute, storage, and network layers
  • Ability to support 24x7x365 on-call rotation for responding to critical system outages
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or an IT field

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with security best practices and adhering to compliance requirements such as NIST, ISO, or GDPR to safeguard sensitive information and ensure data integrity
  • Experience implementing role-based access control and secure configuration baselines
  • Ability to apply DoD STIGs, security controls, and security policies to virtualized environments
  • Ability to support security audits, vulnerability scans, and remediation efforts
  • Ability to maintain documentation and configuration records for compliance and continuity
  • VMware Certified Professional, VMware Certified Advanced Professional, NetApp Certified Data Administrator, or NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer Certification
