About The Position

The Visitor Ambassador is responsible for administering all aspects of general wellness screening and questionnaire for visitors prior to entry into Jackson-Madison County General Hospital (JMCGH). Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Provide friendly verbal greeting to anyone entering JMCGH. Shows compassion, empathy, and kindness in all interactions with patients and visitors and understands that rudeness is never acceptable. Ability to understand visitation guidelines and will always make patient/visitor safety a priority. Ask every non-staff visitor to stop for a brief screening. Perform general wellness screening using the screening tool provided by WTH Administration. Screening may require minimal physical contact and verbal questions and is subject to change periodically. Provide any personal protective equipment required for visitors by WTH Administration. Must be available to work various shifts ranging from 5 am to 8 pm and weekends. Performs related responsibilities as required or directed. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High school diploma LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION: Not required EXPERIENCE: Retail, customer service or other experience as a front line staff preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Adaptability to software applications. Knowledge of healthcare environment to effectively assess and prioritize communication needs. Above average verbal skills required in giving accurate instruction, communicating effectively with hospital staff, patients and families. Ability to work directly with a patient during Virtual Visitation with regard to patient positioning, ability to verbalize, vision, etc. Ability to perform office procedures as required.
