The Volunteer and Community Outreach Coordinator works with all agency departments to promote and provide volunteer services. Oversees agency volunteers in a variety of settings and activities. Responsible for the recruitment, retention, education, and management of assigned volunteers. Facilitates patient assignments according to volunteer skills, interests, and availability, in support of the organization’s mission. Duties often include after-hours and weekends, as needed. Serves as an ambassador in the community for The Elizabeth Hospice. Engages community members in outreach programs to increase their knowledge and awareness of the organization. Recruits and trains volunteers to assist in carrying out community outreach activities. Responsible for developing and nurturing long-term community relationships. Assists with planning and attending outreach events as directed. Manages social media for volunteer and community outreach activities. Supports marketing initiatives, event coordination, and community engagement efforts. The Elizabeth Hospice is San Diego's oldest non-profit hospice of 40 years.
