About The Position

Networks with Faith Communities, Education Systems, Businesses, and other Community Partners to facilitate the scheduling activities that enrich the quality of life for guests, residents, and Community Members. Coordinates the training and scheduling of volunteers and volunteer groups and coordinates well with site supervisors to oversee as necessary. Coordinates material donations and updates “Needs List” in a timely manner and coordinates “move outs” with Case Managers and guests. All with an eye toward future needs and budget realities. Manage non-monetary donations program by creating and communicating easy-to-follow guidelines to teammates, partner agencies, and clients. Monitor the flow of non-monetary donations. Coordinate move-outs and care packages for guests who move into housing. Collect and maintain data concerning the move out services, and in-kind donation and submit monthly reports to the Finance department. Supervise and manage volunteer program and lead volunteer outreach. Coordinate volunteers and activities for all guests served within all CU locations. Establish criteria for volunteers and communicate this to staff and broader community. Provide volunteer orientations, give tours of shelter, update necessary volunteer materials. Maintain volunteer database, files, and statistics, keeping track of volunteer hours, unique skills, and interests. Create and maintain volunteer service opportunities that optimize efficiency in donation reception, sorting, and distribution. Identify one-time and ongoing projects for volunteers in all areas of the organization. Works closely with Advocates to ensure needs of guests and residents are being addressed. Work shifts as Advocate once per pay period or as needed. Work alongside volunteers and volunteer groups as needed. Oversee community service being done at CUFH. Coordinate Social Media updates with Marketing Coordinator. All other duties as assigned or needed.

Requirements

  • Preferred- minimum of 2 years applicable experience preferably in social service setting with people in crisis.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to individual struggles with homelessness, poverty, substance abuse, mental illness, and criminal records.
  • Ability to take initiative and to work both cooperatively with a team and independently.
  • Knowledge of harm reduction, strength-based, and behavior-based models.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
