About The Position

Western Digital is seeking an accomplished sales executive to lead and expand our HDD business with a premier Hyperscale and other key cloud and hyperscale customers across the Pacific Northwest. This role is ideal for a resourceful, high-achieving executive who thrives on shaping complex deals, developing trusted relationships, and driving significant growth at scale. As VP of Sales, you will set the strategic direction for this named accounts engagement, deepen executive relationships, and lead a >$1B global Cross-Functional organization to deliver profitable, sustainable growth. Your success will come from your ability to navigate the AWS ecosystem, translate customer roadmaps into aligned product strategies, and orchestrate cross-functional teams to win and retain mission-critical business. This is a unique opportunity for a proven sales leader with deep customer insight, strong operational rigor, and the ability to influence across engineering, product, operations, and executive leadership teams.

Requirements

  • Proven track record leading large-scale B2B, hyperscale, cloud, or OEM engagements — ideally with comparable cloud providers (AMS, Azure, Google Cloud, Meta, etc.)
  • Expertise in complex hardware sales, long-cycle negotiations, and enterprise procurement models.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence across global organizations.
  • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, large-scale data storage architectures, and TCO/value-engineering dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a multi-year sales strategy specifically tailored to AWS and hyperscale cloud customers.
  • Build trusted, multi-level relationships across the named account (Procurement, Supply Chain, Infrastructure, Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, and Executive teams).
  • Identify emerging AWS requirements and translate them into Western Digital product, roadmap, and supply strategies.
  • Drive long-term agreements (LTAs), demand planning processes, and co-innovation opportunities with AWS.
  • Lead and elevate a cross-functional global sales campaign that aligns closely with AWS’s consumption models, storage tiers, infrastructure expansion cycles, and TCO frameworks.
  • Represent Western Digital’s HDD portfolio with clarity, technical fluency, and an understanding of the company’s architecture, use cases, and long-term data strategies.
  • Anticipate customer needs—capacity, performance, security, sustainability—and ensure WD is positioned to meet and exceed expectations.
  • Evangelize new business models and product categories beyond current customer portfolio
  • Deliver precise, data-driven forecasting across complex global demand streams.
  • Provide operational oversight and executive-level insights, including metrics, reporting, supply chain readiness, and quarterly business reviews (QBRs).
  • Drive the integration of customer requirements into internal processes (e.g., build plans, NPI, EOL transitions, sustainability metrics).
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Product Management, Operations, Legal, and Finance to structure competitive proposals, manage risk, and execute flawlessly.
  • Lead initiatives such as Extended End-of-Life (EOL) programs, Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI), and specialized manufacturing or logistics solutions for AWS.
  • Drive business requirements into contract negotiations, pricing models, and service agreements.
  • Coach, inspire, and develop global sales leaders to execute with clarity and accountability.
  • Build a culture of customer obsession, operational discipline, and high performance aligned with Western Digital’s values and long-term strategy.
