Requirements
- Related alterations on commercial sewing equipment experience preferred.
- Requires knowledge and ability to perform operations on commercial sewing equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff.
- Knowledge, understanding, and compliance of policies and procedures, job descriptions, daily memorandums, chemical labels, and other instructions.
Responsibilities
- Seamstress/Tailor will be responsible for repairing employee uniforms, linen, etc., to assure proper fit while maintaining their condition
- Possess and execute complete knowledge of wardrobe policies.
- Maintain inventory levels by accurately tracking uniforms that are distributed and collected, and provide requisition information to operating managers based on assessed needs.
- Report uniform quality and maintenance problems to the Wardrobe Manager.
- Submit purchase requisitions for approval alteration supplies.
- Reports any safety hazards to assigned supervisor.
- Alter and repair garments, and linens according to department policies.
- Operate all machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
- Tag and/or mark garments as needed.
- Keeps accurate records of all material needed and used to alter and repair garments.
