Requirements

  • Related alterations on commercial sewing equipment experience preferred.
  • Requires knowledge and ability to perform operations on commercial sewing equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and compliance of policies and procedures, job descriptions, daily memorandums, chemical labels, and other instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Seamstress/Tailor will be responsible for repairing employee uniforms, linen, etc., to assure proper fit while maintaining their condition
  • Possess and execute complete knowledge of wardrobe policies.
  • Maintain inventory levels by accurately tracking uniforms that are distributed and collected, and provide requisition information to operating managers based on assessed needs.
  • Report uniform quality and maintenance problems to the Wardrobe Manager.
  • Submit purchase requisitions for approval alteration supplies.
  • Reports any safety hazards to assigned supervisor.
  • Alter and repair garments, and linens according to department policies.
  • Operate all machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Tag and/or mark garments as needed.
  • Keeps accurate records of all material needed and used to alter and repair garments.
