About The Position

This is professional work supervising warehouse staff and coordinating, managing and monitoring all aspects of the daily operation of the District’s capital asset inventory and two warehouses to ensure accountability.

Requirements

  • Operate a forklift and other equipment generally used in the management of a warehouse.
  • Effectively and professionally interact with individuals; present ideas and findings clearly and concisely; communicate effectively and persuasively in a professional manner both written and orally; analyze and interpret financial data and proposals; schedule, reallocate, and prioritize resources/workload to maximize responsiveness, efficiency, and effectiveness; and exercise independent judgment.
  • Work independently and follow direction from management.
  • Ability to multi-task and aggressively follow through with warehouse policies and procedures to maintain an orderly process flow.
  • Warehouse management and inventory control; record keeping; organizing and prioritizing; proficient use of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint); automated procurement and financial systems; effective verbal and written communication; and customer service.
  • An associate degree in business administration, accounting or a related field and five years of experience in procurement or inventory management, one of which must be leading a project team, coordinating activities of a workgroup, or serving as a team lead.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting or a related field and three years of experience in procurement or inventory management, one of which must be leading a project team, coordinating activities of a workgroup, or serving as a team lead.
  • Professional experience in procurement, inventory management, or accounting may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

Responsibilities

  • Warehouse and inventory management: Serves as the District’s control specialist over supplies and inventory. Manages the daily operation of warehouses in Palatka and Palm Bay, supervising subordinate staff. Establishes efficient and effective work processes and procedures for the work group, including engaging available technology and electronic methods. Ensuring established processes and procedures are carried out in a timely and professional manner. Updates, monitors, and maintains databases; monitors inventory usage taking appropriate action to maintain and adjust stock levels; and identify supplies and materials to be added/deleted from inventory. Works with Accounting office to develop and implement work processes to ensure warehouse inventory is balanced with District’s financial system. Reviews the security, control, and accountability of stock items as established by District policies and procedures. Strictly follows District purchasing policies and procedures.  Keeps warehouses neat and orderly and implements procedures to safeguard physical and human resources.
  • Fixed assets management: Maintain the District’s fixed assets records in the financial system. Actively track and monitor asset location to detect and prevent loss and theft. Facilitate proper title and registration of road vehicles. Manages the proper and timely addition and disposal (trade-in, auction, donate, scrap) and removal of fixed assets from physical location and financial records pursuant to District policies and procedures. Communicates directly with District management to ensure all policies and procedures are followed. Maintains proper documentation for all capital asset transactions, from acquisition to disposal, and provides documentation as required for annual audit.  Analyzes p-card reports to identify and record capital assets. Notifies Risk Manager of incoming and outgoing assets for insurance purposes.
  • Reviews and approves procurement actions and invoices for warehouse related purchases.
  • Produces and distributes warehouse management reports, including but not limited to slow moving stock, stock usage, orders, stock reorders, stock order analysis, vendor machines, and chemicals.
  • Assist staff as needed with warehouse operations including operating a forklift, lifting, carrying and retrieving stock including ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
