About The Position

The Westside Middle School Coordinator oversees and leads all aspects of the Middle School ministry, with a primary focus on shepherding students, equipping leaders, and creating engaging, Christ-centered environments. This role plans and executes weekly youth nights, events, retreats, and teaching calendars while building strong relationships with students, parents, volunteers, and church staff. The Coordinator develops and leads volunteer teams, collaborates with the High School Coordinator and broader church staff, and actively participates in Sunday services and all-church initiatives. This is a part-time role (approximately 20 hours per week) requiring strong relational, organizational, and leadership skills, with a heart for discipling middle school students. This is an hourly, part-time position around 20 hours per week with occasional overtime for large projects or events.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the Westside Middle School Ministry
  • Plan, lead, and execute weekly Middle School youth nights (32–35 per academic year)
  • Shepherd middle school students through relational ministry, mentoring, and regular communication
  • Recruit, train, develop, and lead Middle School ministry volunteer teams
  • Plan and execute Middle School events, retreats, camps, and conferences in collaboration with the broader church staff
  • Create and manage the Middle School teaching calendar
  • Partner and communicate regularly with parents of Middle School students
  • Collaborate with the High School Coordinator for combined events and ministry planning as needed
  • Attend and serve during Sunday services by connecting with students and families and supporting all-church initiatives
  • Participate in staff meetings, Member Nights, and other church-wide events
  • Maintain a consistent weekly schedule of approximately 20 hours, including youth nights, Sundays, meetings, sermon preparation, and student connection time
