About The Position

As a Wireless Core Network Operations Engineer, you will monitor and support critical mobile core systems including EPC, IMS, and 5G Core. Your work ensures high availability and performance of wireless data and IoT services. You will contribute to troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and operational stability. This role offers hands-on experience with cutting-edge mobile network technologies. Your efforts directly impact the reliability and quality of Cisco's wireless services.

Requirements

  • Completion within the past 3 years, or current enrollment with expected completion within 12 months, of a certification or relevant degree program (e.g., Associate’s, Apprenticeship, Boot Camp, or Certification in a specialized program + 1 year of relevant experience, High School Diploma + 2 years of relevant experience) or Bachelor’s + 0 years of relevant experience. Relevant fields include: Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Hands-on experience in wireless core or IP networking environments, with a basic understanding of LTE, 3G/4G/5G core components (e.g., MME/AMF, SGW/PGW/UPF).
  • Familiarity with IP networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and switching.
  • Proficiency with Linux command-line navigation and basic system operations.
  • Able to legally live and work in the country for which you're applying, without visa support or sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to telecom protocols such as Diameter, GTP, SCTP
  • Experience with network monitoring or ticketing tools (Nagios, Grafana, Splunk, ServiceNow)
  • Knowledge of virtualized/cloud-native platforms (VMware, OpenStack, Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Basic scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Shell for automation
