The Workforce Development Program Coordinator plays a key leadership role in GSUL's Workforce Development department by combining direct client support with team leadership and program coordination . This position supervises Employment Services Specialists/Job Coaches and provides hands-on employment coaching to program participants. The Coordinator ensures high-quality service delivery, monitors participant outcomes, supports employer partnerships, and maintains compliance with workforce development program requirements. This role may work between GSUL's Del Paso Heights headquarters and Oak Park location , supporting both adult and youth workforce initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in workforce development, employment services, job coaching, or case management
  • Experience providing team leadership, supervision, or lead support
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse and underserved populations
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management systems
  • Bachelor's degree in workforce development, human services, social services, business administration, or related field preferred
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with WIOA or workforce development programs
  • Experience working with youth or young adults
  • Bilingual ability (Spanish or other languages reflective of the communities served)

Responsibilities

  • Lead & Support the Workforce Team
  • Supervise and support a team of Employment Services Specialists/Job Coaches
  • Conduct case reviews and ensure quality service delivery
  • Provide coaching and guidance to staff to support participant success
  • Help monitor team performance and employment outcomes
  • Help Participants Achieve Employment
  • Conduct employment assessments and identify participant strengths and barriers
  • Develop individualized employment plans
  • Provide one-on-one job coaching and career readiness support
  • Assist participants with resumes, interview preparation, job searches, and applications
  • Support participants through hiring and job retention
  • Strengthen Employer Partnerships
  • Build relationships with local employers and hiring partners
  • Identify job placement opportunities for program participants
  • Participate in job fairs, employer outreach, and recruitment events
  • Support participants through the hiring process and follow-up after placement
  • Support Program Quality & Reporting
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in case management systems
  • Track employment placements and participant progress
  • Assist with reporting requirements for leadership and funders
  • Help ensure compliance with workforce program standards and best practices
  • Collaborate Across Programs
  • Work closely with other GSUL programs including allcove youth services
  • Participate in cross-departmental meetings and planning
  • Support community outreach and engagement initiatives
