About The Position

The Writing Center on the Uintah Basin Campus seeks to fill a vacancy for all, spring, and/or summer semesters. The successful applicant will be expected to perform both face-to face tutoring as well as on-line live tutoring via http://distance.usu.edu/tutoring/. This position involves helping students become better writers. This position will require successful applicants to work an average of six hours per week as Writing Center peer responders.

Requirements

Successful completion of English 1010 and 2010
Excellent oral and written communication skill as well as well as a desire to read and respond to student writing assignments.
Must be familiar with (or willing to learn) on-line tutoring interface.
Exception listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing.
Attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal abilities.
Self-starter who takes initiative with minimal supervision.
