As Central Plant Operator, you will work along with a team of fellow rotating shift operators to monitor the continuous production and delivery of utility processes in the areas of; Industrial Wastewater Treatment, HVAC Steam and Chiller Water, and Compressed Air/Industrial Gases. Duties: A successful candidate will work under the guidance and direction of Facilities Operations Supervisor and others to maintain plant operations in a safe, efficient and reliable manner. A 6-month minimum training program is allotted to familiarize and develop the candidate for evaluation and eventual qualification as a competent Central Plant Operator. Monitor/log equipment operational parameters. Exhibit sound judgement in dispatching and adjusting process equipment to suit site specific demands. Assist in daily/seasonal transitions to operate and service boilers, chillers, compressors, pumps and all other associated process control equipment. Test/calibrate/dose process chemistry and adjust dispensing equipment. Respond and react to alarms and upsets to protect equipment and associated facilities infrastructure. Assist and guide Trades labor in the installation and maintenance plant facilities equipment. Certify/submit environment emissions compliance records for air/water discharge. Maintain proper housekeeping practices to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others. Cleaning/replace filters and blow-down piping systems to minimize process flow contamination. Assist in maintaining inventory of wear item and other critical spares.
