Primary responsibility includes selling all Mercury products, generating interest in and closing programs & promotions and providing world class customer service to Mercury Dealers in the United States in a results-driven team environment. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy selling, are achievement-oriented and believe in achieving sales goals through strong collaboration with their co-workers and field sales managers, as well as other internal stakeholders. The position also includes working direct with dealers on order processing, product inquires, and process and procedure communication. Problem solving and ability to make decisions within policies and procedures is required. The zone sales account representative will build direct relationships with dealers and will work closely with and leverage the tools and resources provided to maximize opportunities and close sales gaps within the territories assigned. This is a position that must be success-driven, able to multi-task and work well in a diverse team and enjoy a dynamic and changing environment. Requirements

  • 2 years of relevant sales and customer service experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a professional phone presence and excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi‑task, prioritize work, and manage time effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency with computer applications including order entry systems, word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to proactively plan calls, manage a pipeline, and execute on sales goals.
  • Ability to quickly learn, articulate, and position sales programs and Mercury product offerings.
  • Demonstrated accountability, including taking ownership of results, following through on commitments, and maintaining high work standards.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong business relationships, understanding customer needs and collaborating on mutually beneficial solutions.
  • Effective sales and influence skills, using appropriate communication styles to gain acceptance of products, services, or ideas.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration, contributing positively to group decision‑making and maintaining a respectful and supportive environment.
  • Ability to manage conflict professionally, using appropriate interpersonal techniques to reduce tension and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

  • Contact customers through, but not limited to, phone calls and email to communicate programs and policies that lead to sales.
  • Build relationships with customers and promote sales of all Mercury products through execution of sales programs and services.
  • Upsell and cross-sell, suggesting product substitutes.
  • Daily use of Salesforce.com or other CRM tool to document and facilitate multiple aspects of the sales cycle
  • Monitor and learn marine market area information (products sold, competition, boat brands in the market, etc).
  • Support retail sales activities to achieve maximum sales and market share.
  • Collaborate closely with Business Development Managers and Regional Business Directors as well as cross-functional departments such as credit, supply chain and distribution.
