About The Position

The Academic Requirements Specialist is a member of the curriculum operations team in the Office of the University Registrar (OUR). The position is primarily responsible for academic requirements evaluation, encoding and maintenance in the student system of record, Workday Student. The position collaborates with OUR team members, the student system support team and relevant vendors, and campus partners maintaining courses and ensuring program requirements are accurately represented. Reports to the Assistant University Registrar.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
  • Relevant Experience (2 Years)

Responsibilities

  • Academic Requirements Encoding Encode academic requirements in Workday Student, both for new programs and updates to existing programs’ requirements; analyze requirements as written in the Bulletin to determine most effective configurations given system functionality and desired outcomes. Engage with production schedule and prioritization to achieve accurate encoding by expected deadlines. Collaborate with campus partners, including the OUR degree progress team, to verify academic requirements encoding is accurate and field support and troubleshooting requests. Escalate encoding issues caused by product limitations or policy constraints to appropriate partners, including the Assistant University Registrar, Workday Support Team and/or academic partners; recommend solutions as appropriate.
  • Engage with Workday Student Maintenance and Support Coordinate with OUR colleagues, Workday Support Team and WashU IT in maintaining system and integrations, i.e., testing and engaging with upgrades and ongoing maintenance. Address support requests from campus partners and students and escalate as necessary in alignment with Workday support delivery model.
  • Curriculum Operations Team Engagement Participate fully in operational process and communication practices to ensure shared work within OUR teams is effectively executed across all functions according to the production calendar.
  • Maintain Office Standards and Expectations Perform other duties as assigned; engage in professional development activities and study to improve professional skills, stay current on regulations and best practices; and effectively represent OUR and WashU in St. Louis.
