About The Position

HX5 is currently seeking an Acquisitions Strategy and Documentation Principal to support the HNI Division at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of principles, policies, and practices governing systems acquisition and program management, ensuring compliance with DoDI 5000.02 and statutory/regulatory requirements. Leverages deep understanding of DoD and U.S. Air Force roles, relationships, and structures to develop and execute plans that enhance mission capabilities and align with organizational objectives. Applies advanced qualitative and quantitative methods to evaluate and optimize the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of acquisition programs, providing actionable insights and recommendations. Monitors cost and schedule baselines, assesses program performance, identifies risks, and recommends solutions or alternative courses of action to ensure program success. Produces high-quality acquisition documentation (e.g., briefings, plans, reports) and effectively communicates complex concepts to diverse stakeholders, both orally and in writing. Drafts comprehensive acquisition strategies for ACAT I programs, prepares statutory and regulatory reports (e.g., DAES, MAR), and supports program management reviews and IMP/IMS assessments. Builds strong relationships with multi-MAJCOM stakeholders and cross-functional teams to counsel on acquisition strategies, identify program requirements, and execute tasks with precision and diplomacy. Develops and delivers polished briefings and program updates to senior management, offering insights into progress, acquisition tasks, and strategic recommendations.

Requirements

  • Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: Masters degree in related field and 15 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 10 years of which must be in the DoD OR Bachelors degree and 20 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 10 of which must be in the DoD
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance by date of hire.
  • Must be able to travel, including air travel.
