The Opportunity:This is a mission-critical role within our Tool Support Organization. You aren't just managing a desk; you are the technical lead for the systems that keep our tradespeople equipped and our shipyard safe. You will own the lifecycle of high-value assets—from precision metrology instruments to life-saving electrical PPE—ensuring that every tool is calibrated, tracked, and ready for the next shift. The Role:This position is high-velocity and computer-driven. Your day-to-day involves more than data entry; you will be analyzing shortage reports, managing Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), and complying to tool crib policies across various trades to maintain organizational excellence. System Mastery: Proven ability to navigate and manage data across multiple enterprise platforms simultaneously (e.g., Oracle, MRPII, Access, and proprietary tracking databases). Logistical Accuracy: Extreme attention to detail with the ability to track and audit high volumes of serial numbers, calibration dates, and safety certifications (such as the Electrical Glove program). Process Ownership: A "self-starter" mindset capable of identifying inventory gaps, reconciling complex invoices, and independently managing tool repair and ship-back programs. Operational Communication: The professional confidence to enforce tool crib policies with diverse trade groups and provide clear, real-time updates to supervisors.
