About The Position

The Office of Child Support (OCS) works to ensure every child has the resources needed to be safe, secure, and stable. We support families throughout the child support process and partner across programs to help children and families thrive. The Administrative Services Coordinator I provides essential administrative coordination and operational support for the Office of Child Support. This position helps keep the office running smoothly while supporting key organizational initiatives. Responsibilities include a variety of administrative and coordination tasks such as processing invoices, ordering supplies, maintaining records and list, scheduling meetings, coordinating travel, and submitting maintenance requests. The role also supports HR-related activities, including onboarding and offboarding staff and coordinating equipment setup (computers, monitors, cell phones, etc.). Additional duties include assisting with staff events, researching returned mail, supporting special projects, and helping to improve administrative processes and procedures. This role requires proficiency with Microsoft Office products and comfort learning and using new software applications and online systems. The ideal candidate will be organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. They will communicate respectfully and effectively, work well both independently and as part of a team, and are confident using technology. This position will be primarily in-office with potential for limited telework. Work is performed with considerable independence under the general supervision of an OCS Deputy Director, with opportunities for professional growth and development.

  • Two (2) or more years of full-time college coursework OR an Associate's degree in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or closely related field.
  • One (1) or more years of full-time college coursework in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or closely related field AND one (1) year or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization.
  • High school diploma or equivalent AND two (2) years or more of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization.
  • One (1) year or more of experience as an Administrative Services Technician IV with the State of Vermont.
  • For some positions experience working with the VISION system VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system may be required.
