About The Position

As a Avionics Technician, here is what you’ll be doing at the core, day to day.•    Install and test complex avionics equipment and electrical systems on aircraft. •    Comply with environmental health/safety policies and procedures.  •    Perform and document all work per appropriate manuals and regulations. •    Remove, repair and re-install any problematic avionics equipment before aircraft is cleared. •    Assemble and install electrical components. •    Operate ground support equipment if required. •    Provide accurate diagnosis of avionics problem(s). •    Maintain detailed records of all repairs and worked performed on aircraft.   Here’s what is required to succeed as a Avionics Technician.•    Minimum of 1 year of work experience or substantiated equivalent experience.       o    Corporate jet aircraft or commercial aircraft experience preferred.        o    Military aircraft maintenance experience (Depot/Isochronal/Phase inspections) is a plus.  •    High school diploma or equivalent required.  •    FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) or Airframe (A) License is preferred.  •    GROL (General Radiotelephone Operator License) or AET (Aircraft Electronics Technician) Certification preferred.  •    Certification from Avionics, Electric A/C Technical school or equivalent military training is preferred. •    Comfortable working with technology / entering aircraft maintenance actions into a computer-based system.  •    Ability to read and interpret blueprints. •    Excellent analytical skills and attention-to-detail. •    Strong working knowledge of aviation safety practices and technology.  •    Understand various aircraft systems, such as hydraulics and flight controls. •    Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA), if applicable. •    Must be comfortable with shift work; we are a 24/7 operation with 12-hour shifts which include days, nights, and weekends. •    Possess (basic) set of tools. •    Ability to effectively communicate aircraft maintenance actions verbally and in writing.
