About The Position

The Barista is responsible for crafting exceptional coffee experiences while delivering warm, personalized service to every guest. As the welcoming face of the café, the Barista ensures that each interaction reflects The Ben’s hospitality philosophy—thoughtful, attentive, and refined. This role requires both technical skill and genuine guest engagement. From preparing handcrafted espresso beverages to maintaining a polished café environment, the Barista contributes to a seamless and memorable guest experience. The ideal candidate is passionate about coffee, attentive to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced luxury hospitality setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of barista or coffee shop experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of espresso machines and coffee brewing techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer and POS system proficiency.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong verbal communication and ability to read and write clearly

Responsibilities

  • Provide warm, personalized service to every guest.
  • Greet and engage guests in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Create a welcoming café atmosphere that reflects the hotel’s luxury standards.
  • Resolve guest concerns with professionalism or escalate to management when needed.
  • Prepare coffee, espresso beverages, and specialty drinks with precision and consistency.
  • Operate espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment confidently and safely.
  • Maintain knowledge of coffee brewing methods and beverage offerings.
  • Ensure all beverages meet quality and presentation standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of counters, workstations, equipment, and surrounding guest areas.
  • Assist with stocking inventory and monitoring supplies throughout the shift.
  • Follow all health, sanitation, and safety standards.
  • Accurately process cash, credit cards, and other payment methods.
  • Maintain accurate transaction records through POS systems.
  • Ensure accountability and attention to detail in all financial transactions.
  • Support team members to maintain smooth daily operations.
  • Demonstrate integrity, honesty, and accountability in all guest and team interactions.
  • Assist with additional tasks as needed to ensure exceptional service delivery.
