About The Position

Provide resume and cover letter writing assistance to students, including Review student resumes and cover letters based on a rubric and ensure quality and suitability Share techniques that help students target resumes to desired internships / jobs Proactively identify content writing samples and compile a list Proactively seek and compile feedback pertaining to resume review processes and procedures in order to improve resume review process and level of student participation. Seek opportunities to partner with student clubs and organization to create student engagement Share job search resources with students such as Handshake, LinkedIn, and Indeed; providing tutorials when appropriate Develop and run workshops for business students related to resume writing Help maintain and update SB Student Services website with information relevant to Career Development Assist Career Development in collecting student data for First Destination Surveys Act as student representative at specified School of Business events Represent and answer questions about SB with prospective students and families at open house and admissions events As needed, represent SB at events such career fairs, guest speakers and other on-campus or virtual events. Demonstrate professionalism and sound judgement while representing the School of Business Attend weekly GA team meetings and participate in all GA-specific training and professional development sessions Provide supplemental back-up support for other School of Business GA functions, as assigned (e.g., assist with career fair set up, preparing admissions bags/folders, etc.) Graduate assistants will have a primary supervisor within the Dean’s Office and will complete projects with other School of Business staff as assigned. Maintain a pre-set work schedule between normal business hours (8am-5pm), with ability to set work schedule around classes at the start of each semester Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a minimum of 6 graduate credit hours per semester
  • Excellent writing and grammar
  • Exercises excellent judgement and discretion with confidential information
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with highest attention to detail
  • Ability to interact with students
  • Strong Excel, organizational, analytical, & communication skills
