About The Position

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) is the sixth-largest transportation system in the U.S., connecting communities across a 2,200-square-mile service region. Administrates all activities of the pre-employment testing process in the department. Coordinates these activities under the supervision of the Manager, CRC and Testing to include but not limited to the scheduling, administration, proctoring (onsite and offsite) and scoring of pre-employment test; as well as ensure the testing environment is secure, fair, and compliant with testing guidelines and rules. Conduct data analysis of testing scores and information for reporting purposes. Provide individual and group career services and coaching to SEPTA employees. Engage with college and university partners to include coordinating and participating in college fairs and support employees with college and advancement assistance.

Requirements

  • High School plus (8) years administrative experience including two (2) to three (3) years in one or more of the following areas: business administration, operations, academic, adult learning, career services or testing related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of advanced education and experience two (2) years of experience equating to one (1) year of advanced education may be considered.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required at the intermediate level and the ability to learn other software applications. Candidate will be tested and required to pass the exam(s) at 60%.
  • Excellent customer relations skills required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in exam proctoring.
  • At least 1 year of experience in career services.
  • Ability to work on at least 2-3 Saturdays a month and Tuesday evenings.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time as the role is 50% standing.

Responsibilities

  • Administrates the scheduling, administration, proctoring (onsite and offsite), set up of the testing room and scoring of pre-employment tests and maintains related files and testing data.
  • Coordinates testing policies and procedures.
  • Provides routine directions, information, and advisement to test takers in regard to testing policies, procedures, and outcomes.
  • Keeps informed of advanced technology in standardized test administration, computer-based testing, and associated software.
  • Assists with testing development validation projects. Maintains documentation and data to support the validation process.
  • Conducts statistical analysis including correlation, multiple regressions, analysis of variance and other statistical methods required to support the reliability and validity of tests.
  • Prepares statistical reports relating to test activity. Assists with inquiries regarding employee and pre-employment testing.
  • Assists in the development of tests for developmental purposes.
  • Maintains test files, test records, and test library and to ensure the confidentiality of same.
  • Maintains a study guide library.
  • Maintain strict security protocols, verify candidate identity, and adhere to ADA accommodations.
  • Ensure a quiet, comfortable, and controlled environment free from distractions.
  • Provide one on one and group career services and coaching to SEPTA employees to include but not limited to interviewing skills, resume preparation/development, presentation skills, transfer process, etc.
  • Engage with college and university partners to include coordinating and participating in college fairs/information sessions and supporting employees with college and advancement assistance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
