About The Position

Under supervision, Certified Enrollment and Outreach Counselor's are responsible for reaching out to communities to provide assistance with health insurance enrollment. The position will screen patients according to Covered California and will make follow-up calls to applicants for any missing information, access forms in the computer system, update information in the practice management system and electronic records system. Responsible for uploading application documents to each program computerized system. Must currently be or willing to become a Certified Enrollment Counselor to assist our patients in applying for Covered California, Medi-Cal and Primary Care Access Program (PCAP).Certified Enrollment and Outreach Counselors also assist patients with Medi-Cal Renewals and Plan Selections and conduct outreach efforts to individuals and families who have specific healthcare needs. The successful candidates must listen to community members in a culturally sensitive way, usually in their native language, and connect them with necessary services.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, required.
  • Certified Enrollment Counselor experience, required.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in outreach or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, communication, and customer relations skills, required.
  • Knowledge of health care insurances (i.e., Covered CA, Medi-Cal, Healthy Families, Healthy Kids, Primary Care Access Program), required.
  • Valid California Driver’s License in good standing with DMV required; current liability insurance.
