About The Position

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a key executive responsible for defining and implementing the global technology and digital strategy for a publicly traded, multinational organization. This leader oversees enterprise information technology, cybersecurity, digital transformation, global infrastructure, and data capabilities. The CIO also serves as the executive champion for Artificial Intelligence (AI)—including generative AI, machine learning, automation, and intelligent analytics—ensuring responsible governance and measurable business impact across all regions and functions. The role partners closely with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and the Board of Directors (particularly the Audit and Risk Committees) to ensure that technology investments align with global business priorities, regulatory requirements, and shareholder expectations.

Requirements

  • Experience leading IT teams and technology initiatives across multiple countries and cultures.
  • Skilled at presenting complex technology and cyber issues to Board committees.
  • Strong understanding of SOX, financial reporting, regulatory expectations, and transparent shareholder communication.
  • Proven success leading large-scale transformation in complex, global organizations.
  • Deep experience with global cloud platforms, hybrid architectures, and modernization programs.
  • Expertise with global security frameworks and compliance programs.
  • Leadership experience with global ERP implementations, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy, global standards, and analytics maturity.
  • Ability to define and execute AI strategies in a global, regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of model architecture, training, testing, deployment, and scaling.
  • Knowledge of AI ethics, risk scoring models, regulatory compliance, and global standards.
  • Demonstrated success embedding AI tools into enterprise operations, products, and services.
  • Experience with RPA, low-code platforms, intelligent workflow design, and efficiency modernization.
  • Deep understanding of global operations, supply chains, field services, or industrial/technical environments (industry can be tailored).
  • Strong financial and operational acumen, including capital planning and global budgeting.
  • Ability to collaborate with global commercial, operational, and functional leaders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required.
  • Master’s degree (MBA, MIS) preferred.
  • 15–20+ years of progressive IT leadership, with at least 5–8 years in an executive role in a public, global company.
  • Experience leading technology transformation and AI adoption at enterprise scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multicultural, geographically dispersed teams.
  • A minimum of 15 years of IT leadership experience, with at least 5 years of executive IT experience
  • Public company experience as sitting CIO or broad based second chair
  • Experience in an industrial services (technician related) company preferred
