About The Position

Visionary Broadband seeks a qualified individual to fill the role of Combination Technician. This full-time, hourly position will join the Installation and Tower crew(s) at Visionary Broadband, a division of Visionary Communications, Inc., one of the top service providers in the region. Duties and Responsibilities:  Installation As the Field Technician/Installer, you will install wireless internet and VOIP at customer locations, both residential and commercial. This includes, but is not limited to, basic router programming, installation of equipment (i.e., dishes, mounts, Cat 5 cabling, etc.), completion of work orders, and other tasks assigned by the VP of Wireless. Represent Visionary Broadband in a professional manner, emphasizing excellent customer service performing wireless internet installations, repairs, removals, etc. Maintain professional behavior and proper communication with internal and external contacts, including company and branch employees, managers, and outside vendors. Interact with customers over the phone and in person Tower Technician Install equipment on Tower Assembling electronic equipment in racks/cabinets, plumbing all RF, wiring Telecom Installation of RF/ground/power/telecommunications cabling. Completion of client and company checklists, photos, and test results typically communicated to management (emails, uploads to FTP, Web Interface, etc.) Maintain network documentation with a very high level of accuracy Completing work that is assigned while on 24-hour “on call” duty to resolve any tower-related or customer issues   Qualifications: Visionary is often on the cutting edge of new technology deployments and works in a multitude of different situations with many different entities. Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, as well as ability to quickly learn and work within proprietary computer applications.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with demonstrated problem solving abilities
  • A valid driver's license and be insurable to drive a company vehicle is preferred.
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard 8am-5pm hours and be willing to travel on a weekly basis. 
  • Must be willing to travel within the region (Montana, Wyoming and Colorado) 70% of the time (hotels and per diem paid for out of town travel).  Generally you will be home most weekends.
  • Lift and carry up to and above 50 pounds.
  • Work at Tower heights and on extension ladders for the duration of a day.
  • Utilize fine motor coordination, clear speech, and good visual acuity.
  • Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
  • Continually required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts
  • Exposure to outside weather conditions
