Counsel, Ethics & Compliance (Compliance Monitorship) eBay is seeking a Counsel, Ethics & Compliance to join our team! The role will primarily help support eBay’s external compliance monitorship by driving disciplined execution of commitments, flawless deliverables, and sustainable remediation across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in compliance, audit, risk, or investigations; monitorship or regulatory remediation experience preferred.
  • Strong program management and stakeholder influence; excels in deadlines and cross‑functional execution.
  • Expertise in evidence QA, controls testing, and root‑cause analysis.
  • Exceptional writing and presentation; adept at distilling complex issues into clear actions.

Nice To Haves

  • CCEP, CIA, PMP, or JD/advanced degree; experience with GRC tools and data analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a centralized monitorship request and deliverable tracker; drive cross‑functional timelines, owners, and SLAs.
  • Support the translation of monitor findings/recommendations into actionable remediation plans with clear owners and milestones.
  • Prepare briefing materials for senior management, the monitor; and board/board committee and manage Q&A and follow‑ups.
  • Maintain policy/control mapping to monitor requirements; track changes through governance.
  • Deliver training and communications regarding the monitorship to internal stakeholders to embed commitments and enable change adoption.
  • Operate an evidence management process: scope, gather, QA, and submit artifacts that meet monitor standards.
  • Produce dashboards and status reports (on‑time rate, evidence quality, remediation completion, findings trends).
  • Uphold attorney-client privilege, confidentiality, and record‑keeping standards in partnership with Legal.
