The Associate Compliance & Ethics Specialist supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company's compliance and ethics program to ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies within the oncology healthcare sector.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in healthcare compliance, legal, or regulatory affairs, preferably within the oncology or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex compliance concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and discretion.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related discipline
  • Typically, minimum 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • May have degree or equivalent

  • Certification in healthcare compliance (e.g., CHC) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and revision of compliance policies, procedures, and training materials.
  • Conduct research on federal and state healthcare regulations, including but not limited to HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and False Claims Act, to ensure company compliance.
  • Support internal investigations into potential compliance violations, including gathering documentation, interviewing personnel, and preparing summaries.
  • Participate in compliance risk assessments and audits, identifying areas of potential exposure and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Help prepare and deliver compliance training sessions to employees at various levels of the organization.
  • Maintain accurate and organized compliance documentation, records, and databases.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding compliance policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including Legal, HR, and Operations, to integrate compliance principles into business practices.
  • Monitor and track regulatory updates and industry best practices to ensure the compliance program remains current and effective.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports for leadership on compliance activities and issues.
