About The Position

America Works of New York, Inc., a socially conscious company, is seeking a self-motivated Retention Specialist to support finance and billing functions on a small corporate finance team. The ideal candidate is a quick learner, independent worker, and skilled in computers, Microsoft Excel, and Salesforce.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a 4-year degree or recent graduate.
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (35 hours, unpaid lunch break).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ability to quickly learn new software and systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Motivated, dynamic, and self-driven, with a professional approach and positive 'can-do' attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for serving disadvantaged and underserved populations, including public assistance recipients, justice-involved individuals, persons with physical and/or mental disabilities, and individuals experiencing homelessness.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Microsoft Office is a definite plus.

Responsibilities

  • Enter employment (hires) into the SEAMS system for clients across multiple sites and programs.
  • Send out Employment Verification Forms (EVF) to employers using Salesforce and follow up on unreturned forms.
  • Upload work verification data using Equifax Work Number software.
  • Process client milestones.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to contracts or staff inquiries, escalating as needed.
  • Assist the Billing Coordinator with data entry for finance-related functions, including billing and employment verifications.
  • Regularly utilize Microsoft Excel and Salesforce for accurate data entry and reporting.
  • Enter and maintain high volumes of data into computer files, spreadsheets, and database systems.
  • Update, verify, and retrieve existing participant data.
  • Assist with maintaining and organizing confidential participant files in accordance with program guidelines.
  • Support special projects and ad hoc tasks as needed.
