About The Position

The Director of Quality Risk Management is responsible for directing, implementing and planning the daily operation of all health and medical related services across USMD.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • RN License.
  • 6 Sigma/lean processes for risk mitigation required.
  • Prefer at least five years in an administrative position; experience in community based nursing in one of the following: geriatrics, rehabilitation/restorative nursing, psychiatric nursing or intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Experienced with NCQA and OSHA standards

Nice To Haves

  • Master's level preferred
  • CPHQ preferred

Responsibilities

  • Leads, directs, and monitors the delivery of health care and related health and medical services. Provides direct supervision to the Regional Clinical Managers.
  • Implements and supervises operation of HEDIS and CMS 5 Star quality metric achievements, quality assurance / improvement programs and risk management (accident / incident / patient complaint) programs.
  • Manages activities necessary to support the clinics and population health division to achieve optimal HEDIS based standards of patient care.
  • Performs a variety of duties related to managing potential risks and liabilities across the clinics.
  • Create and implement policies that improve both patient care and employee safety.
  • Educate and train staff about potential risks
  • Work with the company’s legal counsel in situations of medical malpractice or workers' compensation claims.
  • Provides leadership to assure compliance with local, state and federal regulations, Medicare / Medicaid Conditions of Participation, NCQA Accreditation Standards and nursing practice standards.
  • Provides effective and efficient budget management that assures the best utilization of resources.
  • Provides effective staff management (hiring, development, training, performance feedback, etc.) that assures utilization of personnel to best meet the needs of the people receiving supports and services. Evaluates service needs and staffing requirements to assure needs of people supported are met.
  • Plan, implement, direct, evaluate, and document an integrated, comprehensive, proactive risk-management program for all clinics and community based programs
  • Develops and implements health care related training that assures the best possible delivery of health related supports and services.
  • Develops and maintains documentation systems for continuity of care and record storage that assures compliance with local, state and federal regulations and USMD policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
