About The Position

The Director of CTE Pathways provides strategic leadership in alignment with K-12 Career Technical Education (CTE) to college CTE pathways. This work is done in collaboration with multiple stakeholder groups, including K-12 educators, business, industry, and faculty and staff. This role is responsible for facilitating seamless pathways for students that begin in K-12 and continue through post-secondary and successful employment. Work will be performed in conjunction with the College’s objectives regarding pathways alignment, student success and access, and community and economic development.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Education or a closely related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience with K-12 career technical education, including leading teams and professionals.
  • State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership Provides visionary leadership and strategic direction by working collaboratively with college colleagues, administrators, faculty, and staff to ensure the success of career technical pathways, inclusive of College Credit Plus, CTAG, and articulated credit options.
  • Collaborates with faculty, staff, and administration to develop, maintain, and disseminate information about pathways efforts via multiple media forums, including web, print, email, advertisement, etc.
  • Develops relationships with faculty and key influencers, including high school counselors, teachers, and school administrators.
  • Strategic Planning Develops and implements strategies to continue to provide access for more students to enroll in career technical pathways.
  • Participates in college-wide conversations focused on the continual quality improvement of the student experience, as well as high-quality teaching experiences for high school and career center students.
  • Establishes key relationships and communication strategies to share the story of the College and leverage partnerships for the development of current or new pathways opportunities for students.
  • Operational Leadership Provides daily oversight and mentors K-12 Program Consultants.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing at all service points, assigns projects and delegates tasks, creates work schedules, provides direction, resolves work problems, communicates job expectations, trains employees, and develops professional growth and development opportunities.
  • Carries out, explains, interprets, and enforces policy and recommends policy change for polices that may impede student success.
  • Conducts annual employee evaluations, recommends pay increases, promotions, and other personnel actions.
  • Approves leave requests and authorizes overtime as appropriate.
  • Manages employee recruitment, selection, and onboarding process of the department in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Administers disciplinary actions upon approval, and in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Establishes and maintains a standard of excellent service to students, faculty, and internal customers.
  • Administers the department budget in collaboration with Business Services.
  • Estimates expenses to implement department objectives; completes midyear budget review; reviews and approves requisitions; exercises budgetary controls and reallocates resources when necessary.
  • Building Partnerships & Collaboration Collaborates with campus stakeholders, including faculty, staff, academic leadership, and external partners, and contracts to capture the progress and work of career technical academic offerings.
  • Prepares and shares reports that will be used for internal and external audiences.
  • Collects, evaluates, and reports data on student success in partnership with the Institutional Effectiveness Office.
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners to track and utilize data that informs the development and maintenance of CTE options.
  • Administers ongoing systematic evaluation of services and programs that are needed.
  • Keeps accurate records; completes and maintains required documentation.
  • Advocates for policy changes as needed.
  • Culture of Respect Fosters and maintains a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and members of the community.
