About The Position

The Naval Academy Athletic Association (NAAA), founded in 1891, is a nonprofit organization whose objective is to "promote, influence, and assist in financing the varsity athletic programs of the midshipmen of the United States Naval Academy" in accordance with the policy of the Superintendent of the Academy. Through an intercollegiate athletics program that is one of the largest in the country, every midshipman is afforded the opportunity to compete in athletics at the Division I level. The emphasis on physical fitness is borne out in the first line of the mission of the U.S. Naval Academy: To develop midshipmen morally, mentally and physically. This position operates under the direction of the Executive Director of Football Recruiting & Analytics and is responsible for executing the program’s recruiting strategy and managing all day-to-day recruiting operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience at a Division I FBS or FCS institution
  • Experience planning and executing both official and unofficial recruiting events
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Must be proficient in various recruiting software platforms (e.g., ARMS, Whistle)
  • Must have the ability to work in large groups and individually
  • Must have great communication skills
  • Must be able to lead large groups of people
  • Must have the ability to coordinate and schedule large events
  • Working knowledge of all NCAA compliance rules and regulations
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States of America, without sponsorship.
  • Must be eligible to work on a military installation, including a willingness to submit to a background screen.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • This is an in-person position.
  • Should be able to lift at least 45 pounds
  • Should be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Will be asked to work in inclement weather including rain and extreme temperatures
  • Will be asked to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends
  • Sitting for extended periods (typically 6–8 hours per day)
  • Hand and finger dexterity (e.g., typing, using a mouse, handling paperwork)
  • Repetitive hand and wrist movements (e.g., keyboarding, data entry)
  • Visual acuity (e.g., reading screens, documents)
  • Hearing ability (e.g., participating in phone calls, video conferences)
  • Basic upper body movement (e.g., reaching for office supplies, opening drawers)
  • Occasional bending or twisting (e.g., picking up items, adjusting seating)
  • Cognitive focus and mental stamina (e.g., prolonged concentration on tasks)

Responsibilities

  • Assists with training and directing the work of student interns.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff, recruiting personnel, and compliance staff to ensure all recruiting activities adhere to NCAA and institutional policies
  • Execute recruiting strategy set by the Executive Director of Football Recruiting & Analytics
  • Assists with all player personnel and recruiting operations
  • Manage recruiting database and prospect tracking
  • Maintain recruiting boards under GM direction
  • Assist GM in identifying positional needs and priorities
  • Develop recruiting plans for NCAA calendar periods
  • Ensure compliance with NCAA rules
  • Collaborate with coaching staff and personnel department
  • Serves as a staff member of a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) - sanctioned athletics program, and understands that NCAA rules and regulations must be followed and strictly adhered to. Maintains an understanding and awareness of applicable NCAA rules via annual compliance briefs to staff, the NCAA Manual, copies of which are maintained in the Compliance Office, regular compliance item e-mails generated by the Compliance Office, and the NCAA official website (ncaapublications.com – Div I Manual). Immediately notifies the Compliance Office if a potential violation of NCAA rules is observed. Understands that non-compliance with NCAA rules and regulations may be grounds for termination of employment.
