About The Position

Midland Care Connection is a not-for-profit, community-based organization dedicated to helping older adults and seriously ill individuals remain independent and supported in their homes. Established in 1978, the organization has grown to serve approximately 2,800 individuals across 22 counties in Northeast Kansas, 6 counties in Central Kansas, and 12 counties in Missouri. Midland Care offers a full continuum of services, including the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), hospice, palliative care, home health, grief and loss counseling, and Meals on Wheels. Guided by its mission of “meeting individual needs through innovative care solutions,” Midland Care Connection operates through several related entities, including Midland Care, Visiting Nurse Association Kansas City, Community Care Hospice, Responsive Care Solutions ACO, National PACE MSO, and Midland Care Physician Services. With annual revenue of approximately $100 million, the organization’s work is carried out by a dedicated team of 650 staff members and 1,000 volunteers. Director of Revenue Cycle Management Responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the revenue cycle process. This includes overseeing claim development, submission, cash posting, denial investigation, and collections/follow-up activities related to all company services and payer sources. The role requires collaboration with outside contract vendors for Accounts Receivable Billing and Collections to ensure efficient and effective revenue cycle operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of medical billing experience.
  • Proven managerial experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency, including experience with billing software.
  • Must possess a valid Kansas or Missouri Driver’s License.
  • In-force automobile liability insurance is required.
  • Must maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets the organization’s insurability standard.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with outside contract vendors for Accounts Receivable Billing and Collections.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to oversee claim development, submission, cash posting, denial investigation, and collections/follow-up activities.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in accounting and/or finance.
  • Previous experience with Home Health and Hospice billing.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire revenue cycle process, including claim development, submission, cash posting, denial investigation, and collections/follow-up activities.
  • Collaborate with external contract vendors for Accounts Receivable Billing and Collections to optimize revenue cycle performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in the revenue cycle process.
  • Analyze and improve existing revenue cycle processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintain strong relationships with payer sources to facilitate timely and accurate claim processing.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the revenue cycle team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to revenue cycle activities.
  • Work closely with other departments to align revenue cycle operations with organizational goals.
  • Ensure the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records of revenue cycle activities.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in revenue cycle management.
