About The Position

The Director of Special Programs provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for APCP’s Special Programs division. This full‑time leadership role oversees vascular access services, leads an established telehealth program, and manages the daily operations of multiple advanced practice and value‑based care initiatives. The Director is responsible for building, training, and leading a high‑performing team of vascular access nurses while ensuring clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organizational goals. This position requires strong experience in clinical operations, program management, telehealth leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license
  • Clinical experience in vascular access services
  • Leadership or management experience at the director or senior‑level preferred
  • Proven ability to build, develop, and lead clinical teams
  • Strong knowledge of clinical operations, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience overseeing or leading telehealth programs
  • Background in special programs, advanced practice models, or value‑based care
  • Experience in program development, workflow optimization, or process improvement

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and management of the Special Programs department, including daily operations and long‑term program development
  • Oversee vascular access services, ensuring best practices, standardized protocols, quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance
  • Recruit, hire, train, and lead a team of highly skilled vascular access nurses
  • Develop and implement training programs, competencies, and ongoing education for vascular access staff
  • Lead and support an established telehealth division, ensuring clinical quality, provider performance, and operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and expand special programs aligned with organizational and clinical objectives
  • Monitor program performance metrics, quality indicators, and productivity benchmarks
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational regulations and policies
  • Manage staffing models, workflows, and resource utilization for special programs
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and performance reporting
  • Serve as a clinical and operational resource to interdisciplinary teams and leadership
  • Support program growth, innovation, and continuous improvement across all assigned initiatives
