About The Position

The Edger Operator 1 at The Beasley Group is responsible for operating and maintaining the edger machine within the sawmill to ensure the efficient processing of lumber. This role is crucial in optimizing the quality and yield of wood products, contributing significantly to the production goals and operational efficiency of the sawmill.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience working in a sawmill or similar industrial environment.
Familiarity with operating and maintaining machinery, specifically edger machines.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics related to machinery operation.
Strong attention to detail to ensure precision in cutting and processing lumber.
Capability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment.
Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require prolonged periods of standing and manual labor.
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors effectively.
Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and procedures within an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

Operate the edger machine to process lumber according to specified dimensions and quality standards.

Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
Assist in training new operators on the proper use and maintenance of the edger machine.
Maintain accurate records of production output and machine maintenance activities.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
