The Email & Lifecycle Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing Balanced Body’s email and SMS marketing strategy across both campaigns and automated lifecycle flows. This role will drive revenue growth, customer engagement, and retention by delivering highly personalized communications throughout the entire customer journey. This position owns the planning, execution, and optimization of promotional campaigns, triggered lifecycle flows, and customer segmentation strategies using Klaviyo and Shopify data. The ideal candidate is both a creative storyteller and a data-driven marketer who understands how to use lifecycle marketing to increase customer lifetime value.

Requirements

  • 5 - 8+ years experience in email marketing, lifecycle marketing, or CRM marketing
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field
  • Proven success managing both promotional email campaigns and automated lifecycle flows
  • Strong understanding of customer segmentation, personalization and lifecycle marketing strategy
  • Experience with Klaviyo required
  • Familiarity with Shopify ecommerce environments
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to improve marketing performance
  • Excellent written communication skills with experience writing conversion-focused email copy
  • Highly collaborative and comfortable working cross-functionally
  • Motivated self-starter with strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Experience with Wrike or similar project management tools

  • Familiarity with WordPress, GA4, and ecommerce analytics a plus

Responsibilities

  • Plan, write, and execute email and SMS marketing campaigns including promotions, product launches, content, and newsletters.
  • Manage the Email & SMS Content Calendar in collaboration with the Marketing team to ensure timely campaign delivery.
  • Write clear, compelling email copy with strong calls-to-action designed to maximize engagement and conversion.
  • Coordinate with design, product, and marketing teams to produce high-performing campaign assets.
  • Ensure all email and SMS communications align with the Balanced Body brand voice and messaging.
  • Develop, build, and optimize automated lifecycle flows including welcome series, abandoned browse/cart, post-purchase, product education, replenishment, cross-sell, and win-back campaigns.
  • Map and manage the full customer lifecycle journey, identifying opportunities to improve customer engagement, repeat purchases and retention.
  • Create nurture sequences for new customers that guide them toward deeper engagement with Pilates products, education, and content.
  • Implement segmentation strategies to deliver highly personalized messaging based on behavior, purchase history, and engagement.
  • Own email and SMS performance metrics including revenue attribution, open rates, CTRs, conversion rates, and subscriber growth.
  • Conduct ongoing A/B testing across subject lines, messaging, send times, segmentation strategies, and automation flows.
  • Monitor list health and engagement to ensure optimal deliverability and compliance.
  • Analyze performance data and provide regular reporting with insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Partner with the broader Marketing team to support integrated campaigns across email, SMS, web, social, and content marketing.
  • Align lifecycle marketing with key product launches, promotions, and seasonal campaigns.
  • Assist in developing the 6–12 month Content Marketing Calendar and coordinate email support for key initiatives.
  • Participate in the CORE blog team to develop content where needed and align blog distribution with email marketing efforts.
  • Use email marketing to promote content that supports the Pilates community and Balanced Body brand authority.
  • Stay current on lifecycle marketing best practices, personalization techniques, and emerging email/SMS trends.
  • Propose new campaigns, flows, and segmentation strategies that drive subscriber engagement and revenue growth.
