About The Position

The Email Marketing Manager leads FH’s email and SMS communications to investors, ensuring platform health, industry best practices, and a coordinated supporter experience across campaigns. This role partners with internal stakeholders across the organization to plan, build, and execute email and SMS communications while managing a centralized communications calendar to ensure messages are timely, relevant, and engaging. The Email Marketing Manager also leads the development of automated lead nurturing and conversion journeys, leveraging data, segmentation, testing, and marketing automation to improve engagement, conversion rates, and revenue outcomes.

  • Hands-on experience with marketing automation and email platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Mailchimp.
  • Strong understanding of email marketing best practices including deliverability, segmentation, testing, and performance optimization.
  • Experience managing email marketing KPIs such as engagement, conversion, and revenue performance.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS for email editing and troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver donor communications.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the organization-wide email and SMS communications calendar to ensure coordinated, well-timed supporter communications across campaigns.
  • Partner with internal teams to intake briefs and plan, build, and execute email and SMS communications.
  • Manage the day-to-day execution of email and SMS campaigns within Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Mailchimp, including audience segmentation, journey builds, testing, and deployment.
  • Build and manage automated supporter journeys and workflows using marketing automation tools (e.g., Journey Builder, triggered sends, automatic workflows) to support onboarding, engagement, and retention across the support lifecycle.
  • Implement personalization strategies using dynamic content, behavioral triggers, and supporter data to deliver relevant and engaging communications.
  • Provide strategic guidance on audience targeting, segmentation, and messaging to improve engagement and campaign effectiveness.
  • Ensure communications follow industry best practices and are optimized for deliverability, engagement, and performance.
  • Maintain the health and performance of FH’s email and SMS platforms, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and optimize key performance metrics including deliverability, spam rates, unsubscribe rates, open rates, click-through rates, and overall engagement.
  • Implement ongoing optimization strategies including A/B testing, subject line testing, send-time optimization, content experimentation.
  • Leverage customer data and behavioral insights to improve audience segmentation and enable more personalized supporter communications.
  • Develop and maintain reporting frameworks and dashboards to track email performance, engagement, and marketing automation effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Salesforce administrators and data teams to ensure accurate data synchronization, segmentation, and campaign tracking between Salesforce and marketing automation platforms.
  • Manage email and SMS preference center and unsubscribe processes to ensure compliance and a positive supporter experience.
  • Manage relationships with external email and SMS vendors and consultants to support platform improvements and initiatives.
  • Lead the strategy, development, and execution of lead cultivation and conversion journeys designed to convert prospects into investors.
  • Lead cross-functional conversion initiatives from concept through execution and performance measurement.
  • Partner with campaigns and sales teams to improve lead quality and optimize conversion across the supporter funnel.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop high-performing marketing content and messaging aligning investor motivations with FH opportunities.
  • Monitor funnel performance and identify opportunities to improve conversion rates, donor value, and cost-to-acquire.
  • Grow and maintain a healthy email list through acquisition strategies, lead magnets, and optimized sign-up experience.
  • Stay current on marketing automation and conversion best practices to continuously improve performance.
