About The Position

Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. Arthrex is actively searching for a student pursuing a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Mechanical, Biomedical or Chemical Engineering or Materials Science/Engineering degree, to support the Supplier Quality team in Ave Maria, FL (AMIE). The Supplier Quality team at AMIE is responsible for supporting supplier quality activities at AMIE. The successful candidate will investigate, disposition, and document supplier provided materials with guidance from the engineering staff. The individual will perform various actions (such as root cause analysis, continuous improvement, DMAIC) and will be detail oriented in the execution and documentation of these actions. The individual will also work within the requirements of their tasks to deliver results and communicate issues in a timely and accurate manner. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Ave Maria, FL facility. Main Objective: To support various tasks related to improving congruence between Arthrex and supplier inspection requirements, tools, and methods.

Requirements

  • Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an engineering degree or a recent graduate within the last six months required. Junior or above, studying Mechanical, Biomedical or Chemical Engineering or Materials Science/Engineering preferred.(Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)
  • Ability to effectively communicate, oral and written, and possess the ability to work through technical issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Statistical analysis experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of surgical equipment/instrumentation and mechanical testing equipment preferred. PC, ProEngineer or other 3D modeling software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review opportunities for inspection alignment or efficiency gains.
  • Review parts on hold and develop reporting to allow stakeholders to drive for product release.
  • Generate NCR documentation (sort forms, quality bulletins, etc).
  • Assist in and develop strategies in reducing overall open nonconformances at AMIE, additionally learn and support all phases of the process.
  • Assist with generating the month over moth metrics report outs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
