About The Position

As a Staff Engineering Operations Analyst within the Central Software Engineering (CSE) organization, you will have a direct impact on how engineering teams plan, operate, and scale, influencing decisions at Qualcomm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Science, or related field.
  • Associate's degree and 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of relevant work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling.
  • Prior experience with financial planning/budgeting and reporting.
  • Experience with visual analytics using tools such as Tableau and basic knowledge of SQL, Cognos TM1, Databricks, n8n and/or Power BI.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including PowerPoint, Word, and Teams, for executive-ready communication and collaboration.
  • Hands-on experience with Power Automate or similar workflow automation tools to streamline data collection, reporting, and operational processes.
  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools (e.g., Copilot) to improve productivity, automate analysis, and enhance reporting workflows.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong organizational and communication skills and effective planning capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Central Software Engineering (CSE) leadership to provide operational insights, analytics, and decision support across software engineering organizations.
  • Monitor and manage software engineering headcount tracking, including new headcount requests, approvals, workforce planning, forecasting, and ongoing reporting.
  • Leverage AI tools, Microsoft Copilot, and Microsoft applications to automate data analysis, reporting, and dashboards, reducing manual effort and improving data accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support annual and quarterly planning cycles by providing data-driven analysis and scenario modeling for engineering leadership.
  • Identify process gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and transparency across engineering teams.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, HR, IT, and Engineering stakeholders to ensure alignment on data definitions, processes, and reporting standards.
