About The Position

A position within the Agriculture, Arts and Education Department that reports to the department Manager, the Exhibit Attendant - Judging Clerk records and certifies the San Diego County Fair competition results.

Requirements

• Works cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors.
• Follows oral and written instructions effectively.
• Has good penmanship and is detail oriented.
• Proficient in basic math – addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Proficient in alphabetization and numerical ordering.
• Knowledge of calculators, iPads, touch screens, and/or tablet computers.

Responsibilities

• Reads and understands state, local and competition specific rules and eligibility.
• Reads and understands exhibitor guides for San Diego County Fair competitions including fine art and crafts, photography, woodworking, student exhibits, collections, gems/minerals/fossils, jewelry, specimen blooms, floral design, agricultural, garden landscaping, and container plants.
• Understands and adheres to all competition rules, eligibility, judging systems, and awards structures.
• Completes hand written and digital record keeping, ensuring accurate and legible records.
• Ensures results are recorded and reported to the Entry Office in a timely manner.
• Attends clerk training sessions.
• Interacts with visiting judges and exhibit team members to provide accurate information.
• Practices good physical work methods, utilizes good work habits, and meets established production standards.
• Performs other related duties, as assigned or requested, when needed.
