About The Position

As the Facilities Coordinator you are responsible for coordinating facility maintenance and custodial operations to ensure buildings, grounds, and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, and functional condition. The Facilities & Custodial Coordinator provides preventative maintenance, oversees custodial duties and building upkeep, manages supplies and equipment, supports internal and external customers, and ensures accurate and timely documentation of maintenance activities. This role works closely with staff and external vendors to maintain agency facilities, respond to maintenance requests, coordinate custodial services, and ensure buildings meet operational and safety standards. Specific responsibilities include: Facility Maintenance & Operations Conducts routine preventative maintenance on facilities, vehicles, and equipment to ensure proper operation. Completes building repairs as assigned. Provides general building upkeep including painting and repair of windows, walls, doors, and fixtures. Custodial Coordination & Building Care Performs custodial duties including cleaning, sanitation, trash removal, and general facility appearance. Ensures buildings, offices, and common areas are clean, organized, and ready for daily operations. Coordinates room setups and equipment arrangements for meetings, trainings, and events. Monitors cleaning supply inventory and orders custodial supplies as needed. Ensures proper sanitation and cleanliness standards are maintained across facilities. Grounds & Equipment Maintains facility grounds including mowing, trimming, and snow removal. Safely operates lawn care, snow removal, and maintenance equipment. Ensures outdoor areas remain safe and accessible for staff and visitors. Inventory, Supplies & Documentation Maintains storeroom inventory and distributes supplies as needed. Provides receipts from purchases and reconciles invoices with delivered goods. Maintains a listing of current suppliers and repair contacts. Ensures maintenance activities and safety inspections are documented accurately and in a timely manner. Why Work here? Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent plus experience in facility maintenance, custodial services, or related work experience.
  • Must be at least 23 years of age with a valid Iowa driver's license.
  • Maintenance and custodial work performed typically while walking and standing.
  • Must have the physical ability to work standing for extended periods, inspect mechanical aspects of buildings, climb heights, and lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must safely operate mowing, snow removal, and maintenance equipment and work in environments that may expose the employee to minor injuries or adverse weather conditions.
  • Must maintain frequent communication with internal staff to respond to maintenance and custodial requests.
  • Must meet hiring qualifications for the position as set by contractual agreement with HHS, JCS, Managed Care, the Council on Accreditation of Family and Children's Services, and/or any applicable funding source.
