About The Position

Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, brings expanded services to a new building located at 6225 Sharlands Ave. in Northwest Reno. The facility will offer acute rehabilitation and adult behavioral health services. Our acute rehabilitation services include occupational, speech, and physical therapy for adults recovering from stroke, injury, or another disabling condition. We offer advanced treatment for a wide range of conditions including stroke, brain injury, amputation, neurological disorders, major multiple traumas and spinal cord and back injuries. All patients will experience private rooms, have access to a newly renovated therapy gym, and personalized care from our qualified staff. Website: www.northernnevadahealth.com This Facilities Manager opportunity is full time at 40 hours per week, offers full benefits and a conveninent schedule. This position is for our NEW Rehab Hospital located in Northwest Reno. This dynamic individual will be responsible for the ongoing, effective operation of the Plant Engineering department and for the ongoing assessment and improvement of all services for the department. Performs and coordinates maintenance and urgent, corrective and routine repairs in electrical, mechanical and HVAC equipment. Responsibilities encompass not only the internal functioning of facilities services but also the integration of these services into the overall functioning of facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • 5 + years previous hospital management experience.
  • Expereince or working knowledge in all aspects of building trades, including HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the Director develops both long and short range goals for the department and services that are consistent with hospital goals.
  • Educates staff on department and hospital operations, policy and procedures as needed.
  • Provides oversight of regulatory compliance by monitoring and reporting on status periodically to assure compliance readiness including TJC, Fire Marshal, State of Nevada, etc.
  • Demonstrates proficient management of staffing functions including recruitment, selection, training, mentoring, corrective action, and termination in adherence to hospital HR policies. Consistently assesses and appraises staff performance and productivity.
