Inspector I is an entry-level role designed to build foundational knowledge of inspection processes that ensure product quality and compliance. In this position, individuals develop core inspection skills while supporting the verification of materials and assemblies received from suppliers, in-process production, and final product release. Inspectors at this level learn to evaluate parts and components for conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, corporate procedures, and customer requirements. Through hands-on experience and structured guidance, they contribute to maintaining the quality and integrity of products while developing technical inspection capabilities. The Inspector I performs work under the direct supervision and mentorship of a more senior inspector (Level II or above), gaining the practical experience necessary to grow within the quality inspection career path. External applicants are eligible for a $1,000 sign on bonus.

Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline
  • Basic proficiency interpreting detailed mechanical drawings and blueprints, including geometric tolerances, dimensions, and general features, to accurately assemble, adjust, and repair equipment in accordance with specifications.
  • Basic proficiency in shop math, geometry, and algebra.
  • General computer skills (E-mail, internet, basic MS office including excel).

Responsibilities

  • Learn how to coordinate and manage shipment of final product.
  • Learn how to prepare to inspect by interpreting blueprints, data, and manuals to determine specifications, inspections and testing procedures.
  • Review paperwork to ensure completion and accuracy of all documents including routers, flow card, First Articles, etc. with oversight
  • Learn how to inspect product to verify conformance to specification of the parts by measuring dimensions using instruments such as gages, calipers, comparators micrometers, etc.
  • Learn how to oversee customer requirements audit system.
  • Works under immediate supervision.
  • Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.
  • Develops basic job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.
  • Tasks are routine/ repetitive in nature, requiring limited judgment.
  • Has little or no role in decision-making.
  • Support and follow all rules/guidelines/standards set by EHS, Quality, and CI functions as set by your leader and position.
  • Over 40 hours per week as scheduled to meet business needs.
  • All other duties as assigned including working extended shifts/overtime as required by the business.
