What it's like to be a Financial Reconciliation Specialist at Financial Reconciliation Specialist As a Financial Reconciliation Specialist at The Human Resource Consulting Group, you can expect a dynamic and engaging daily routine. Your primary responsibility will involve reviewing financial transactions, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring accurate records. You will utilize various software tools to perform reconciliations and generate reports, collaborating closely with team members to resolve any financial issues that arise. Your day will typically start at 8:30 AM and end at 5 PM, Monday through Friday, fostering a structured yet flexible work environment. On Fridays, you’ll have the option to work remotely, allowing you to wrap up the week in a comfortable setting. Expect regular training session and team meetings where innovation and problem-solving take center stage, fueling your curiosity and enhancing your skill set as you grow within the role. What matters most To excel as a Financial Reconciliation Specialist at The Human Resource Consulting Group, a strong blend of technical and analytical skills is essential. Candidates should have at least three years of experience in a similar role, complemented by a degree in Accounting or Finance. Proficiency in Excel is crucial, as you will be tasked with performing daily reconciliations of multiple bank accounts, including operating, payroll, tax, and client-specific accounts. You must possess a keen eye for detail to monitor and match cash activities, such as ACH, wires, and checks. The ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies with urgency and ownership is vital. You will also be responsible for reconciling payroll funding and supporting month-end close through accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations. Strong communication skills are necessary to partner effectively with Payroll, Tax, and Finance teams, helping to identify trends and opportunities to enhance financial controls.

Requirements

  • 3 years minimum with a degree in Accounting or Finance and excellent Excel skills including Pivot tables!

Responsibilities

  • Performing daily reconciliation of multiple bank accounts (operating and client-specific accounts)
  • Monitoring and matching cash activity including ACH, wires and checks
  • Investigating and resolving discrepancies with urgency and ownership
  • Reconciling payroll funding to ensure alignment between client debits
  • Maintaining clear documentation and audit trails for all reconciliation activity
  • Partnering with Tax and Finance teams to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Identifying trends and gaps and opportunities to strengthen financial controls
