About The Position

The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire fleet operations of the company on a national scale. This role entails strategizing, planning, and executing fleet management policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with regulations. The Fleet Manager collaborates closely with various stakeholders to optimize fleet performance, maintain fleet safety standards, and enhance operational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5-7 years) in fleet management or related roles, with a demonstrated track record of success in overseeing large-scale fleet operations.
  • Strong understanding of fleet management principles, including procurement, maintenance, compliance, and cost management.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards governing fleet operations.
  • Proficiency in fleet management software and technologies.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the company's national fleet operations in alignment with organizational objectives and industry best practices.
  • Manage the procurement process for vehicles, negotiate contracts with suppliers, and ensure timely maintenance and repair of the fleet to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory requirements related to fleet operations and ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Develop and monitor budgets for fleet operations, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement measures to optimize fleet-related expenses without compromising quality or safety.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for fleet performance, track and analyze data to assess performance against targets, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage risk factors associated with fleet operations and implement strategies to mitigate risks effectively.
  • Evaluate, select, and implement fleet management technologies, such as GPS tracking systems and telematics, to improve fleet visibility, efficiency, and decision-making processes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and collaboration in support of fleet operations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement initiatives to enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of fleet operations.
