What You'll Do as Floor Technician: Maintain hard surface floors by buffing, stripping, and refinishing floors. Clean baseboards, corners, and doors. Perform finishing techniques to protect floors. Vacuum and low moisture/extract cleaning carpets to remove dirt and stains. Wipe down doors, furniture, vent covers, and equipment as needed. Perform special cleaning assignments; determine appropriate cleaning chemical used to clean various surfaces such as vinyl, paint, ceramic; concrete, carpet, metal, brick, wood, and rubber surfaces. Maintain floor care equipment to include minor repairs and adequate chemical supplies needed to complete tasks. Read and fully understand the “Material Safety Data Sheets” (MSDS) for all chemicals and solutions used in processes and procedures. Follow all facility safety policies and procedures and comply with City, State, and Federal agency requirements.
