Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, psychiatric nursing, or a closely related field;OR High School or General Equivalency Diploma with two (2) years of responsible employment history.
  • Employees in this position may be required to apply for Missouri Associate Alcohol Drug Counselor (MAADC) credential.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills in group and public settings are essential.
  • Ability to facilitate educational groups for adults, promoting positive morale and supportive attitudes.
  • Must demonstrate initiative, innovation, and creativity leading to improved clinical outcomes.
  • Ability to exhibit concern for the needs of clients and staff, enhancing the organization’s image.
  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Involves sitting most of the time but may require walking or standing for brief periods.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present educational materials that encourage active client participation.
  • Create and maintain a safe, supportive, and culturally sensitive environment for learning and discussion.
  • Evaluate client participation during group sessions and communicate feedback to team members.
  • Document client attendance and summarize participation and outcomes for each group facilitated.
  • Utilize agency-approved formats to maintain timely and accurate documentation of services in the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
  • Report potential threats to client or staff wellbeing promptly to supervisors.
  • Commit to regular and consistent attendance as an essential job function.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
