About The Position

This position is responsible for facilitating groups such as Peer Support and formal Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) classes within the treatment mall program. It also provides 1:1 peer support intervention for individual patients as requested by the treatment team. The individual in this position serves as members of the hospital's Hope & Wellness Center Design Team and a variety of other hospital committees and work groups as needed as well as participation in Treatment Team meetings.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development diploma and one year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • As required, listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.
  • As applicable, listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • As applicable, North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of mental health and/or substance use recovery principles, trauma-informed care, crisis intervention strategies, and person-centered approaches.
  • Ability to facilitate peer support groups, advocate for peers, and assist individuals in navigating healthcare and social service systems.
  • Ability to communicate both written and verbally.
