About The Position

We are looking for a talented Health, Safety and Environment Leader-Moderate Complexity to join our team specializing in health and safety for our Cummins’ business in Stoughton, WI. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Foster a Collaborative Safety Culture You'll build strong cross-functional relationships to ensure everyone understands their responsibilities and is committed to a positive health, safety, and environmental (HSE) culture. Empower Employee Engagement By actively consulting employees and involving them in shaping HSE programs and policies, you'll create a sense of ownership and accountability across the site. Lead Strategic Risk Management Your leadership in hazard and environmental aspect identification will uncover key risk areas and drive strategic improvements in compliance and safety performance. Drive Goal-Oriented Action Plans You'll set clear HSE targets and objectives, manage planning actions, and ensure initiatives are executed effectively to meet site-wide goals. Strengthen Site-Wide Support Systems Through training, skill development, and internal communications, you'll establish a robust support model that enhances HSE awareness and capability. Ensure Regulatory and Data Compliance You'll manage HSE documentation and interface with regulatory bodies, ensuring all content is current, controlled, and compliant with legal and data privacy standards. Champion Continuous Improvement By analyzing performance metrics, audit results, and incident data, you'll lead tactical improvements and drive continual enhancement of HSE systems and practices. Develop Talent and Lead by Example You'll coach and mentor teams, foster professional growth, and stay ahead of industry trends—positioning yourself and your team as HSE leaders within the organization.

Requirements

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Occupational Health, Safety or Environmental required.
  • Significant relevant experience required, including management of health, safety and/or environmental ISO Standards required.
  • 5-7 years of experience
  • 1-2 years management experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certification in HSE-related field preferred.

  • Active participation on our Site Leadership Group, including review and approval of site policies, engagement with key site events, and sponsoring key site initiatives.
  • Participation in x-site / x-bu best improvement activities including audits, best practice sharing and other initatives.
  • Improving and developing HSE to functional area relationships, while growing the ownership levels of these functional areas for their HSE performance.
  • Coordinate with active tenants at our facility with regards to HSE in shared areas / shared systems on campus.
  • Regulatory compliance management for annual air and water permits.
