About The Position

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Provide trauma-informed care to clients in a Residential Psychiatric Treatment Facility, which is guided by the Sanctuary Model. The Health Services Nurse Manager will promote a safe healing environment by using the seven Sanctuary Commitments Emotional Intelligence, Nonviolence, Open Communication, Democracy, Social Responsibility, Social Learning and Growth and Change.

Requirements

  • Must have RN or LPN licensure.
  • Must have current/active license to practice nursing in the State of Georgia.
  • Must not have a record of a felony, misdemeanor or limitation on nursing license.
  • Must demonstrate effective writing skills.
  • Duties will occasionally require exposure to blood, tissue or bodily fluids.
  • Must understand and follow pertinent OSHA and other safety regulations and guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Two to three years preferred in a similar environment to include supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule assignments for Health Services staff based on established protocol and direction by the Health Services Director.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with nursing standards and Hillside policies.
  • Assist with supervision of Health Services staff. Provide input for employee performance reviews when due.
  • Contribute to the emotional and physical safety of the Hillside community by responding to Emergency Safety Interventions (ESI) in a timely manner.
  • Assist in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating total nursing care according to the clients individualized treatment plan using trauma informed approach.
  • Supervise and assist in the administration of client medications and medical treatments according to physician’s orders. Report client responses to medications and/or treatments.
  • Assessment of all physical injuries/complaints.
  • Report all forms of suspected physical and verbal abuse immediately upon knowledge
  • Monitor communication with the pharmacy regarding medications, prior authorizations and denial of coverage.
  • Model Sanctuary commitments in all client, staff and customer interactions.
  • Participate in professional growth and developmental opportunities for self and other Health Services staff.
  • Leads, guides and trains Health Services staff in protocols and standards of care.
  • Oversee and performs Quality Assurance on all medical records and internal systems.
  • Ensure Health Services is always clean and staffed.
  • Assist in creating and improving standards of care for the Health Services Department.
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Health Services Director and VP of Residential Operations and Clinical Services.
  • Take calls to support and direct the department at least every other week as assigned by the Health Services Director.
  • Will provide Health Services coverage when needed during staffing shortages caused by vacant positions, call outs, vacations, etc.
  • Promote and encourage self-care for Health Services staff
