About The Position

The HR Benefits Manager plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive employee benefits programs that align with the organization's strategic goals and support employee well-being. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of benefits administration, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and compliance with federal and state regulations. The HR Benefits Manager collaborates closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure competitive and cost-effective benefits offerings that attract and retain top talent. By analyzing benefits data and employee feedback, this role continuously improves program effectiveness and enhances employee satisfaction. Ultimately, the HR Benefits Manager ensures that benefits programs contribute positively to the overall employee experience and organizational success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing employee benefits programs in a corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits laws and regulations such as ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA.
  • Proven experience working with benefits vendors and managing vendor relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certification such as Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP.
  • Experience with benefits administration software and HRIS systems.
  • Background in data analysis and reporting related to benefits utilization and cost management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead benefits-related projects and change management initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, retirement, disability, and wellness plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to employee benefits.
  • Partner with insurance carriers, brokers, and other vendors to negotiate contracts and manage relationships.
  • Analyze benefits utilization and costs to recommend program enhancements and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Communicate benefits information clearly and effectively to employees through various channels and provide support for benefits-related inquiries.
  • Lead open enrollment processes and coordinate benefits education sessions for employees and management.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to align benefits strategy with organizational goals and budget constraints.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices to keep benefits offerings competitive and innovative.
