About The Position

The HR Specialist will support the Human Resources Team's administrative functions, temporary labor coordination, and employee engagement initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HRIS systems is a plus.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Must be able to sit/stand for 8 hours
The ability to use arms/hands/fingers to feel and reach
Be able to bend/stoop/kneel as needed
Must be able to hear and talk to communicate with internal/external customers
Must be able to push/pull/ lift at least 45 lbs. individually and 50 lbs. with the help of a team member.
Ability to work in an office setting, and spend primary working hours at a desk using a computer and other office equipment such as printers, copiers, postage machines, etc.
Ability to wear required PPE if in any manufacturing area

Nice To Haves

Internship or prior administrative experience in HR is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HRIS systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

Liaise with staffing agencies to coordinate temporary labor needs.
Track and report on temp labor assignments, hours, and performance.
Assist in scheduling interviews and onboarding for temporary staff.
Ensure timely communication between departments and staffing partners.
Process the temporary staffing payroll
Assist with tracking and processing FMLA, Short-Term Disability (STD), and Workers’ Compensation claims.
Communicate with employees regarding leave eligibility, documentation requirements, and claim status.
Maintain and update employee records and HR databases with accuracy and confidentiality.
Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including document collection and system updates.
Support compliance efforts by organizing and maintaining personnel files and audit documentation.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
Support internal communications related to HR initiatives and events.
Other duties as assigned by management.
